Lift Your Way will be attending a health, fitness and fashion exhibition next month in Bromley. We've picked two of our favourite ranges to show case at the event - our own unique gym leggings, and our collection of organic high cocoa Amma Chocolates.
The political events of 2016 have been extraordinary by anyone's standards. Following the results of the EU referendum, we discussed the anticipated impact of Brexit on our customers, in both the short and medium term. We mentioned that, in the fitness and tanning industries, a huge proportion of equipment is now sourced from China, particularly since the takeover of Earlex, where the last true European-based HVLP manufacturer in Britain was eliminated. The impact of Brexit on this industry, therefore, will be either an increase in prices (with the huge weakening of the Pound against the Dollar), or a reduction in quality.
Small medical devices (such as fingertip pulse oximeters), similarly, are purchased in US$, almost always from Chinese manufacturers. Some companies, such as Contec Medical, have built a reputation for quality, are involved with individuals worldwide, and invest heavily in R&D. Given that items purchased in US$ effectively cost UK businesses 20% more now than they did only a few months ago, again, end-users can expect to see an increase in prices, or an attempt by some sellers to source cheaper options. In the medical field, where a strong track record of performance is everything, this would obviously be of particular concern.
In the following article, we take a step back from our usual topics to address 'the Trump phenomenon.'
